THE STONY-BIDWELL PARK FIRE: PART II or ATTACK OF THE GIANT MOSQUITO

Image
THE STONY-BIDWELL PARK FIRE: PART II or ATTACK OF THE GIANT MOSQUITO      On the front line (or more correctly, over the front line) of the Stoney-Bidwell Park fire was this Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane which started flying over "The Hermitage" about 10:30 am, rattling windows and generally shaking the place. The original idea was for the to take water out of "Walden" because it was closer to the fire but because of its small size, high trees, and very close proximity of houses, the p lan was changed to use of the third or lower (and far less aesthetic) of our three lakes to on-load 2600 gallons of water per "sip." Once the water drops started, a lot of people caught on and went out to California Park Lake to watch - probably a nice diversion from the worries of the fire... © 2018 by Hayato Tokugawa and the Kitty Mafia Art Worx™. A DIFFERENT KIND OF MORNING WALK

Image
A DIFFERENT KIND OF MORNING WALK A Wildland Fire At Bidwell Park (Our Neighborhood)      The Stoney-Bidwell Park fire started Thursday evening at about 10:30 pm and is still active, burning 650 - 700 acres of wild land so fire most of it in Chco's beautiful Upper Bidwell Park and within 1.5 km of our house. It was a very tense day for everyone in the area © 2018 by Hayato Tokugawa and the Kitty Mafia Art Worx™. All rights reserved.
